The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation upholds the draft law on amendments to article 240 of the Crime Code of Ukraine re strengthening accountability for illegal mining

The bill (Reg. No. 2855) aims at strengthening criminal accountability for violation of mineral resources conservation and use regulations.

The bill suggests new version of article 240 “Violation of Mineral Resources Conservation and Use Regulations.”

According to the Committee members, adoption of the bill will promote the rule of law in the use and protection of mineral resources.
